Boom! You’re awake.

You look up,

it’s 6.30 again.

You lie in bed,

next to kerosene;

yearning for a dash of cocaine –

the pain connected by a thread –

a little brunette from

the City, her arms around your head.

Part of a new chapter,

of blissful autumns and oak trees.

Unfolding possibilities growing fonder;

my reality, still in mundanity.

An ache for a smile,

a ride in the sunset.
